Hand Block-Printed Scarves
ancient craft * contemporary sensibility
Inspired by Kantha, a form of embroidery practiced by rural women in India, as a way of community craft. The traditional form of Kantha embroidery is done with recycled cotton saris. Two saris are bound together with a simple running stitch, and the fabric then finds a new life as a quilt. Often several women will work on one quilt together. Black and neutral golden ivory.
